GRNY: Small Favors Preview

New York is going through a horrendous bedbug epidemic, so I felt inspired to base my next series of paintings on these bedbugs for the GRNY Small Favors show opening this coming Saturday. I have never seen or experienced a bed bug in person (and I hope it stays that way!), I felt like creating mini little "portraits" of these little buggers, and add some fun character to these little parasites that normally are looked upon in a very negative light. Small Favors is a show that indirectly celebrates the unique confined spaces of the Big Apple, so I feel these paintings are very appropriate for the show.
